Description
The Persephone Lamé is named after the neglected wife of the Merovingian in The Matrix, played by the beautiful Monica Bellucci. The Greek myth of Persephone is about a beautiful goddess kidnapped by Hades to be his wife in the underworld. Her mother, Demeter, in grief, causes the Earth to wither. Zeus arranges for Persephone to spend part of the year in the underworld and part with her mother, leading to the changing seasons. It’s a story of love, loss, and the origin of seasons.
The Persephone lamé takes classic armor to a modern form, with tapered shoulders and a short tail. This piece makes a statement whether on top of streetwear or under a tux jacket.
Free Maison’s lamés take inspiration from fencing lamés, jackets coated in an interwoven metal to enable electric conductivity for point scoring.
