The Valenciennes Harness is named after a form of bobbin lace. Valenciennes lace is recognized for the closeness and evenness of the pattern, composed of braided threads which make it strong.
The harness is defined by its delicate shape, closed around the neck and draping across the shoulders, a more feminine form of the traditional harness.
